Why is Talc used?

Lucy Gum does contain a small amount of food-grade talc as a processing aid during the manufacturing process.

You've likely seen the news about the link between baby powder and ovarian cancer recently. According to the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC), talc-based powders are generally not carcinogenic. However, there is a small risk that talcum powder may be carcinogenic for humans when applied to the genitals.

Fortunately, talc as an ingredient in chewing gum has a long history of safe use and is contained in practically all gums.
